ePlanner

ePlanner is a website management solution for planning and controlling web-based content and services. ePlanner allows for intelligent publishing of online content. ePlanner makes it possible to publish content and content sets automatically; however, editors are also able to manually control content.

Updating web pages is easy, as ePlanner gathers articles and controls as well as different kinds of lists and listings. ePlanner also manages certain e-commerce transactions, such as online subscriptions.

Web page planning is dynamically changeable in ePlanner. Placing contents into a defined structure is simple; articles, images and videos can easily be retrieved from the editorial system via the drag-and-drop function. All elements have a status telling when they have been published and how often it has been read.

Usage statistics are taken care of automatically; the hit information is saved into the database, and this makes it possible to analyze the information from a variety of time periods. Publishing is a two-phase operation; pages are first previewed and then transferred to production. Two views available in ePlanner provide a schema of modules on the page or a preview in a browser. Links can be added to previously published articles and between that day's articles, as well as to external URLs.

ePlanner is based on the use of XHTML/XML:n and XSL/CSS. All material is converted into XHTML/XML, and the layout is processed using the style definitions of XSL/CSS. This method keeps contents and layout separate; it is also possible to use external tools to modify the layout.

Automatic functions

ePlanner has been designed so that its functions are automated as much as possible. The timed publishing function make it possible to set a date and time for certain material or pages to be transferred to the site. This function also makes it possible prepare materials in advance, such as weekend-specific pages. Articles that meet certain pre-defined criteria can also automatically be published from the editorial system. Removal of material or changing priority information can also be automated based on time or hit information.

The eSales module that is integrated with ePlanner makes it possible to manage reader registration and subscriptions.
